The completed painting! Not a whole lot of color had to be added to the blossoms and the gray layer accomplished most of the task. I really like doing the white blossoms! It's less work!
I cannot emphasis enough the ease of this technique. Each layer builds upon the other. And before you realize it, your painting is complete.
I have several paintings going at any given time. This helps me from getting bored of a particular piece, and it keeps paintings moving out the studio!
Sometimes, a painting will set for quite a while because my interests lie in others. But the work is never lost, it continues to brighten my day when viewing them in the studio. Visitors also are pleased to see them as they are interesting pieces just as they are in their unfinished form.
Have you got a painting in progress? Would you like to share it with others? Talk about your struggles and your triumphs? I now have a great place for you to begin! It almost like having a personal instructor. You can post your image, discuss or ask questions, and I'll get back to you through the web site! Come on and join the fun here at
your oil paintings, photo's and stories!
