Endless Summer Hydrangea, Blue hydrangea, hydrangea flowers

by Delmus

Endless Summer Hydrangea, hydrangea flowers

Endless Summer Hydrangea, hydrangea flowers

My brother has such luck! He's has absolutely no gardening training, yet, this one bush in the front yard just gets better and better each year. It has blue, pinks and violet blooms on it all summer long. I don't think he waters or fertilizes! I've tried to plant this variety in my yard twice, and have killed them! Still not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'll keep trying! Can't let my little bro show me up! Even if he does have the prettiest lawn on the block!

Hydrangers need water
by: Anonymous

Hydrangers need water. I would think that they need more water than the average flower. I am not 100% sure, but follow my logic. I have been in a distribution center where people ship flowers to flower shops.

When flowers arrrive from growers they are in a box. The flowers are cut, placed in water to rehydrated overnight, then eventually shipped out to flower shops.

The difference with hydrangers is, hydrangers arrive with a little bag of water attached to the base of the stem. Most flowers, like roses DO NOT come with water attached to the base of their stem.

I never realized how big of a business shipping flowers was until recently when I spent some time in a distribution center. I met a guy there who seemed to live and breath this stuff.

His name was Scott. He actually owns his own distribution center as well. He was very friendly and seemed to know everything. I am sure he could help you with flower related issues. He's been around for 15 years and you can reach him @: http://flowers4vases.com
