"Kruimeltje en Spike"

I did this as a surprise b-day present for a colleagues wife. She LOVES her animals. He brought to an Antwerp art fair where I was exhibiting (this was preplanned, but she had no idea). We, my colleague and I, had already caught each others eye, and as he led her through the exhibits to my stand, it was as if she walked into a wall! Never saw anything like it...she started crying..."Thats our Spike!" I had never experienced 1st hand the effect my art could have on someone, and needless to say, I was quite proud (and a few euros out of debt, too!)

Alan, thank-you for the submission! I hope you don't mind that I rotated the picture for you. Spike was laying on his side when I first viewed this, and, well, the gerbil(hamster) just didn't like being on the bottom!

It is a beautiful piece of art and I know the owner is proud to show it. Thanks again for the contribution!
