My first brush with Oil on Canvas.

I am a freelance self made artist. I follow no techniques, so you may find the paintings to be raw. Yes I agree I must change my style to improve the finish. I paint as a hobby and not as a profession. I am more inclined towards fine art and hence do not understand modern or contemporary art. Hope you may be interested in some of the paintings.

These paintings were made from pictures/photographs which I liked. All the painting took more than 30 days to complete (meaning drying and applying the next coat). After complete drying for one year, I have varnished them. Here I made the mistake of not photographing before varnishing as a result of which there will be glare in the images of the paintings.

If you like/dislike the art works, please add your comments so that I can understand my shortcomings. My greatest drawback is in signing my big signature!!

Hi Arjun!
The work is very bright and colorful. The perspective in the Hill Resort is done well. The modeling of the Gold Man is believable with a wonderful tone. Keep up the work. Some would call this a primitive style. I believe you have a bright future as your paintings show an understand of many artistic concepts. Should you decide to enter some of the works in a local show or fair, let us know the outcome.
