Still life Cherrys

by Liliana G. Fernandes
(S. Pedro do Sul - Portugal)

Hi,
Another painting, with the same technique (flemish), I made the photo with objects from home, near a window.
Hope you like it.

Liliana

***Editors Note***

Hi Liliana,

I thought I was looking at the reference photo! What a wonderful painting. Thanks for contributing, yes we like it very much. Have you any closeup's of this painting, especially the cherries and glass? And possibly a comment on how you created these parts of the work?
With best wishes,
Delmus
PS, you can create a new submission with the new photo's and I'll combine them with this entry for our readers! I hope you can! The red is so wonderful in these cherries, deep and delicious.

Still Life Cherrys (Close ups)

Dear Delmus
Here there are 2 close ups from the picture I send to you yesterday.
I always used Titanium white to brighten the light colors, some times mixed with yellow ocher. I tried to catch all the blues mixing ultramarin deep, cobalt blue and white.
The cherrys, the light ones I used cadmium red light and a little bit orange, for the shadows alizarin. The deep shadows are done with raw umber and ultramarine blue.
My palette doesn´t have so many colors :-S
All my paintings are done the same as yours, first layer raw umber, 2nd layer gray (raw umber + ultramarine + white) 3rd layer color.
I don´t know how I can explain the way I do it, because I don´t really have study painting.
I still read a lot,... in that mater your blog have help me a lot. :-)
I've painted for a long time, if you want you can see my blog: http://lgfpintura.blogspot.com/
there are almost all the paintings I did.

best regards and thank you very much for your fine critiques.

Liliana

PS: sorry about my poor english.
