[New Stuff at Easy Oil Painting!], Issue #001 -- Yup, this is really the first one, so save it!
July 15, 2009
Hello!

Well, I finally got off my duff and put this thing together. Sometimes it's difficult weighing my painting schedule, family time, and web-work. I know you won't be disappointed in this, my first e-zine!

As promised, I will update you with all the new stuff on the site. I'll also talk alittle about where the site is headed, and how you can be a part of it!

So let's get started! The new things recently added to the site are pages associated with Rose Art. This is a launching page for a whole lot of info on roses. From how to draw them, and how to paint them, to their long history and even (coming soon) how to grow them. If your into roses like I am, this will be a great resource for you.

Plus, once you have your own rose bed, you'll never run out of some fantastic reference material for your paintings!

I've also included a page about the meaning within the color of roses. In this way, should you decide to paint a rose as a gift, you can select the right color for the receiver of your rose! The colors do reflect a specific meaning, so don't be caught sending the wrong message!

I've got two painting demonstrations to show you. They are located at some fantastic art forums that I participate in. by giving you these specific links, you can enjoy the information and read about my struggles in producing these new pieces.

A silver tea pot, and china cup with roses!

And then, I have a piece that is the start of a series of paintings. It's also located within an art forum that is a terrific site to use.

Here's the link to the site.

New Directions with Red Doors, city scape.

Concerning Video's, I've purchased a camcorder that has a hard drive and many wonderful features. I have to ask my kids to help me in figuring out how to use it however, and this is a big job to tackle. My first attempt at recording a few painting sessions yielded unsatisfactory results. Lighting is a real issue in video production, and I want you to be happy with the results. There is also the editing software that will need to be purchased. So hang in there, video's will be a part of the site.

One last tidbit, I'm now on Twitter! It's really a great place to chat, and you'll find me there most days between paint sessions, unless I'm with the kids at their soccer matches!

You can follow me, and I'll follow you back!

Well I hope the information was useful to you. Future ezines will be in a similar format, just different information.

I'm working an orchid painting now to use in next months demonstrations. I'm thinking of using a PDF format as the pages will load faster and I can post more pictures of the process.

Let me know what you think! Have I helped you in any way? Twitter me, or drop me an email. I would love to see some of your work!

Till next time!

This is Delmus Phelps wishing you a happy painting day!
