Took up oil painting in August 2021. Never painted before but had thought about it over the years. Happened to see an old episode of Bob Ross one day, who (shame on me I had never heard of him before until coming across his youtube vid) he made me pick up a paint brush.

I've done fourteen paintings to date. This is number thirteen, in oil wet-on-wet style on a 12 x 12 canvas. It's a follow a long with an acrylic painter called Peter Dranitsin.

a beautiful work
by: Delmus

I like this and the looseness of the work. a very believable landscape with reflections on water.

A composition issue I find is the painting is heavy on the right, and needs a stop (tree?) on the left as you have too many lines leading you out of the left side of the work.

Just a composition thing for me, others may like the opening.

Thanks for posting your work, it is a good piece.

Good job Nate

You are coming along nicely with your landscapes, if you get inspiration from Bob Ross you should also see Bill Alexander who Ross studied under and who supposedly invented this technique. Hope you get some more inspiration from him also. I understand that the wet on wet was started in the 16th century.
Another one to watch is Justin all on Youtube
Don't forget Delmus though!
