Red Rose watercolor painting

Hi Delmus. My painting is a watercolor. I once saw a photo of the same and knew that I had to give it a try. It's now hanging in our home.

This is quite an intense red.

I hope you can come back and add more comments on how it was created. Watercolor is the painting medium the old atelier schools would teach its new students before allowing them to touch oil paints. I could never master the medium.

Did I ever mention that water color paintings were one of the key ingredients in leading me into painting? These were large format florals and city-scapes by a local artist that was showing here in our big yearly outdoor art show.

When at the show, I noticed these gorgeous paintings from a distance and as I approached, I was sure they were blown up photos or posters. Boy was I surprised to find them to be watercolor paintings.

The artist was immediately peppered with so many questions by this enthusiastic teenager who had no money and obviously wasn't going to buy one. I still remember the straw hat he wore and his kind answers. I hope I didn't take away from any sales that day.
